Magnesium is an abundant mineral in the body that plays a key role in over 300 different enzymatic reactions. Indeed, it is often referred to as the ‘spark of life’ due to its importance in the body, and has been shown to support processes ranging from cell division and electrolyte balance through to the maintenance of normal muscle function, normal bones and teeth and the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Although Magnesium can be obtained through dietary sources, modern diets with higher levels of processed foods are less likely to contain sufficient levels of vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, intensive farming practices have reduced magnesium levels in the soil by up to 40% meaning that our foods are less nutritionally dense than they previously were.
