Our History

Greens Health Foods was first established in 1963 by Cress Green, the father of Richard Green. In its early days the shop offered chiropody services alongside beer and wine making supplies, as well as a small range of health foods.

During the early 1980s, interest in health foods was still developing and the shop carried only a modest selection of products. Over time, as awareness of nutrition and natural wellbeing grew, so did Greens, gradually expanding its range and becoming a trusted health food shop within the local community.

Richard Green began working in the shop as a Saturday boy when he was just 12 years old in the 1970s. In 2008, Richard and his wife Jane took over the business as partners and continued to run the shop together. Their daughter Annie later joined the team, becoming the third generation of the family to work at Greens.
